Ministerial Decision No. 161/2014 On the Import Ban of Live Camels from the Republic of Sudan
The Minister of Environment and Water;
After perusal of Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 6/1979 on Veterinary Quarantine and its amendments;
Cabinet Decision No. 27/2013 on the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Environment and Water;
Ministerial Decision No. 460/2001 on the Implementing Regulation of the Veterinary Quarantine Regulation of the GCC Countries;
Ministerial Decision No. 191/2009 on the Regulation of the Transport of Camels through the Boundaries of the State;
Based on health reports published on the website of the World Organisation for Animal Health OIE on the epidemic situation in the Republic of Sudan and on registering aphthous fever,
Congo hemorrhagic fever, brucella, and rabies, and
Based on the public interest requirements;
Has issued the following Decision:
Article 1
The import of live camels from the Republic of Sudan shall be temporally banned until the end of the epidemic with respect to veterinary diseases.
