Ministerial Decision No. 133/2004 On the Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights
The Minister of Information and Culture,
Pursuant to the perusal of Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 7/2002 on Copyright and Related Rights, and
Based on the proposal of the Undersecretary of the Ministry,
Issued the following Decision:
Article 1 - Definitions
In application of the provisions of the present Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto unless the context otherwise requires:
State: UAE State.
Ministry: Ministry of Information and Culture.
Minister: Minister of Information and Culture.
Law: Federal Law No. 7/2002 on Copyright and Related Rights.
Office: Intellectual Literature Office.
Collective Management Licence: Approval, by the Ministry, of management and performance of activities of copyright and related rights by the associations or other competent bodies.
Article 2
Associations and other bodies wishing to carry out collective management of copyright and related rights shall undertake to obtain a licence from the Ministry before engaging in such activity.
