We, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan President of the United Arab Emirates,

After perusal of the Constitution,

The Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amending laws,

The Federal Law No. 12/1976 on Police and Security Forces, and its amending laws,

The Federal Law No. 8/1980 regulating Labour Relations, and its amending laws,

The Penal Code promulgated by the Federal Law No. 3/1987, and its amending laws,

This Decision, published in the Official Gazette issue no. 611, dated 31/1/2017, shall come into force from 25/03/2015, thus a mention is in order.

The present Decision has been issued by the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, thus a mention is in order.

This Decision issued by the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces amending Federal Decision No. 6/2016 dated 24/02/2016 (which amended Article 5 of this Federal Law regarding the national service period) in the Official Gazette no. 729, p. 37, and stipulated in Article 2 thereof “without prejudice to the provisions regarding previous batches, the provisions of this Decision shall apply starting from the batches subsequent to the issuance thereof” and stipulated in Article 4 thereof that it shall enter into effect the day following the date of its publication, thus a mention is in order.
