Abrogates:

Federal Law No. 29/1999 dated 30/11/1999*[1]

And Federal Law No. 4/2003 dated 15/02/2003*[1]

We, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,

After perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 On the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 29/1999 On the Establishment of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 4/2003 On the Establishment of the Zakat Fund;

Federal Law No. 5/2018 On Endowment;

And based on the proposal of the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, the approval by the Council of Ministers, and the Federal National Council, and the ratification by the Federal Supreme Council;

Have issued the following Law:

Article 1 - Definitions

In application of the provisions of this Law, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned against each of them, unless the context requires otherwise:

  • UAE: The United Arab Emirates.
