FEDERAL LAW NO. 27/1981 CONCERNING PRECAUTION AGAINST COMMUNICABLE DISEASES

We, Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates State,

Pursuant to the perusal of the provisional*[1] Constitution; and

Federal Law No. 1/1972 concerning the Jurisdiction of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers and the amending laws thereof; and

Acting upon the proposal of the Minister of Health and the approval of the Council of Ministers and the Federal National Council and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council,

Have promulgated the following Law:

CHAPTER ONE - GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1

Adoption of precautionary and health measures in the State when expecting or appearance of infections of any of the communicable diseases shall be in compliance with the provisions mentioned in this Law.

Article 2

In applying the provisions of this Law, the following phrases and terms shall have the meanings assigned tothem unless the context indicates otherwise:

1- The Minister: The Minister of Health.

2- Health Department: means the Central Health Authority at the Ministry of Health assigned by the Minister to supervise the implementation of this Law
