Federal Law No. 1/1986 On the Implementation of the Computer System in the Federal Civil Service Activities

We, Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates State,

Pursuant to the perusal of the Provisional*^[2] Constitution; and

Federal Law No. 1/1972 regarding the jurisdictions of the Ministries and the competences of the Ministers, and the amending laws thereof; and

Federal Law No. 8/1973 regarding the civil service in the Federal Government, and the amending laws thereof, and

Federal Law No. 3/1982 regarding the Establishment of the General Information Authority; and

Acting upon the proposal of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Chairman of the Civil Service Council, and acting Minister of Planning, the consent of the Cabinet and the Federal National Council and the approval of the Federal Supreme Council,

Have promulgated the following Law:

Article 1

The Ministries shall undertake to apply the computer system in the practice of all aspects of work thereof, thus guaranteeing the update of the performance system therein.

The General Information Authority shall set therefor the systems and programs that achieve such objective.

Article 1 of the Federal Law no. 15/1991 dated 10/6/1991 amending the Law on the Establishment of the General Information Authority no. 3/1982 published in the Official Gazette, issue no. 160 p. 13 stipulates the following: Wherever mentioned in the Federal Law no. 3/1982 and the amendments thereof and the decisions issued in implementation thereof, the following terms and phrases shall replace the ones mentioned therewith:- General Information Authority: National Computer Center.- The Minister of planning: The Minister.- The Board of Directors of the General Information Authority: The Board of Directors of the National Computer Center.- The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Information Authority: The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Computer Center.- Undersecretary of the Authority: General Manager of the Center.- Authority: Center

The word "provisional" has been deleted from the Constitution of the United Arab Emirates, wherever mentioned, by virtue of Article One of the Constitutional Amendment no. 1/1996 dated 2/12/1996; this Constitution has become the permanent Constitution of the State.
