FEDERAL LAW NO. 15/1993 CONCERNING REGULATING TRANSPLANTATION OF HUMAN ORGANS
We, Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of United Arab Emirates State,
Pursuant to the perusal of the provisional Constitution; and
Federal Law No. 1/1972 concerning the Jurisdiction of the Ministries and the Powers of Ministers and the amending laws thereof; and
Federal Law No. 7/1975 concerning Exercising Human Medicine Profession and the amending laws thereof; and
Acting upon the proposal of the Minister of Health, and the approval of the Council of Ministers and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council,
Have promulgated the following Law:
Article 1
Specialist physicians may perform excision surgeries of organs from a living person or a cadaver and plant it in the body of another living person for treatment purpose to preserve his life pursuant to the conditions and procedures specified in this Law.
Article 2
A person is allowed to donate or bequeath any of his organs. The donator or testator is required to be fully competent. Donation or will must be according to a written acknowledgment signed by him and testified by two fully competent witnesses.
