Federal Law No. 14/2016 On Violations and Administrative Sanctions in the Federal Government

Abrogating

The Federal Law No. 19/1978 dated 18/12/1978

We, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,

After perusal of the Constitution,

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 19/1978 on some Provisions related to the Control Regulations;

And according to the approval of the Cabinet and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council,

Issued the following Law:

Article 1 - Definitions

In application of the provisions of this Law, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned against each, unless the context requires otherwise:

State: United Arab Emirates.

Federal Entities: Ministries and other public authorities and institutions and federal government agencies.

Administrative Regulations: Decisions, Implementing Regulations, Regulatory Regulations and Control Regulations issued by the Council of Ministers.

Administrative Violation: An act or refrain from an act, which would constitute a violation to the federal legislations in force at the State.

Administrative Sanctions: Any of the administrative sanctions decided according to the provisions of Article (3) hereof.
