FEDERAL LAW NO. 11/1999 CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND ORGANIZATION OF ZAYED UNIVERSITY

We, Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates State,

Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution; and

Federal Law No. 1/1972 regarding Jurisdiction of Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and the amending laws thereof; and

Federal Law No. 4/1992 regarding the Establishment and Organization of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and

Federal Law No. 7/1999 regarding Issuance of the Law of Pensions and Social Securities; and

Acting upon the proposal of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the approval of the Council of Ministers and the Federal National Council, and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council,

Have promulgated the following Law:

Article 1

A University shall be established in the United Arab Emirates State and shall bear the name “Zayed University”, it shall be an independent scientific public organization of juristic personality.

Article 2

The University aims to partake effectively in improvement and development journey in the State through:

1- Putting forth higher education programs for the achievement of academic outstanding.
