We, Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State of the United Arab Emirates,
After perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 3/1971 on the Armed Forces;
Decision of the Federal Supreme Council No. 1/1976 on the unification of the Armed Forces in the State of the United Arab Emirates;
Federal Decree No. 2/1994 on the promotion of the Chief of Staff to the rank of Lieutenant General; and
Based on the approval of the Supreme Council of Defence and the Council of Ministers;
Have issued the following Decree:
Article 1
The Air Force Staff Lieutenant General, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is appointed as Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
