Federal Decree No. 74/2017 On the Accession of the State to the Protocol of 1988 Relating to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea of 1974
We Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,
Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
Federal Decree No. 38/1983 on the Accession of the United Arab Emirates State to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea of 1974 as amended, and the Protocol of 1987 annexed thereto; and
Based on the approval of the cabinet and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council,
Have issued the following Decree:
Article 1
The State's accession to the Protocol of 1988 Relating to The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (1974), whose text is annexed hereto, was approved.
Article 2
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Authority for Land and Maritime Transport shall implement the present Decree and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
