Federal Decree No. 67/2021 On the State’s Accession to the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks
We, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,
Having reviewed:
The Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers, as amended;
Federal Law No. 37/1992 on Trademarks, as amended;
Federal Decree No. 20/1996 Ratifying the Accession of the United Arab Emirates to the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property; and
Based on the proposal presented by the Minister of Economy, the approval of the Cabinet and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council;
Have decreed as follows:
Article 1
The State’s accession to the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks, whose provisions are attached herewith, is hereby approved.
Article 2
The Minister of Economy shall enforce this Decree from the date of its issuance, and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
