Federal Decree No. 23/1974 On the Membership of the UAE in OPEC Organization

We, Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates State,

Pursuant to the perusal of the Provisional Constitution of the United Arab Emirates*^[1];

Based on the decision of OPEC organization regarding the approval of transferring the membership of Abu Dhabi in the said organization to the UAE issued during the meeting hold in Geneva on 7 to 9 January 1974;

AND based on the proposal of the Minister of Petroleum and Minerals, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the approval of the Ministerial Council as ratified by the Federal Supreme Council

Article 1

Approval on the membership of the UAE in OPEC instead of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Article 2

Ministers according to their areas of jurisdiction shall put such decree into effect and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
