Federal Decree No. 167/2020 On the Accession of the State to the Protocol of 1996 to Amend the Convention on Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims, 1976
We, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,
Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
Federal Decree No. 118/1997 on The Accession of the UAE to the 1976 Convention on Limitation of Liability For Maritime Claims (LLMC), and
Based on the approval of the Council of Ministers and the ratification of the Federal Supreme Council,
Hereby issue the following Decree:
Article 1
The accession of the State to the Protocol of 1996 to amend the Convention on Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims of 1976, the text of which is here attached, has been approved.
Article 2
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Authority for Land and Maritime Transport shall implement the provisions of this Decree, which shall be published in the Official Gazette.
