Abrogating:

Federal Law No. 2/2008 dated 21/01/2008

We, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,

Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 2/2008 concerning Public Benefit Associations and Civil Institutions and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 20/2018 on Combating Money Laundering, the Financing of Terrorism and the Financing of Illegal Organisations, and its amendments; and

Based on the proposal of the Minister of Community Development, and its approval by the Council of Ministers,

Have issued the following Decree-Law:

Chapter 1 - General Provisions

Article 1 - Definitions

In application of the provisions of this Decree-Law, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto, unless the context requires otherwise:

  • State: The United Arab Emirates.

  • Ministry: The Ministry of Community Development.

  • Minister: The Minister of Community Development.
