Federal Decree-Law No. 23/2024 Concerning Social Support

We, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,
Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the competencies of the Ministries and powers of the Ministers, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 2/2001 on social security, and its amendments;
Based on the proposal of the Minister of Community Development, and its approval by the Council of Ministers,
Have issued the following Decree-Law:
Article 1 - Definitions
In application of the provisions of this Decree-Law, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Ministry: The Ministry of Community Development.
Minister: The Minister of Community Development.
Social Support: A monthly amount disbursed to the Beneficiary in accordance with the provisions of this Decree-Law.
Beneficiary: Anyone meeting the eligibility criteria for Social Support as stipulated in this Decree-Law and its Implementing Regulation.
Primary Beneficiary: The Beneficiary who is authorised and in whose name Social Support is disbursed according to the provisions of this Decree-Law.
