Federal Decision No. 71/2024 On the Implementing Regulation of Federal Decree-Law No. 8/2023 Concerning Cryptography
The National Security Advisor,
After perusal of Federal Law No. 1/1972 On Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 17/2006 On the Establishment of the Supreme National Security Council, and its amendments;
Federal Decree No. 32/2016 On the Appointment of the National Security Advisor;
Federal Decree-Law No. 8/2023 Concerning Cryptography; and
The Decision of the National Security Advisor, Federal Decision No. 16/2019 On the Establishment of the National Data Centre;
Has decided the following:
Article 1 - Definitions
In application of the provisions of this Regulation, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned against each, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Council: The Supreme National Security Council and its affiliates.
Advisor: The National Security Advisor.
Centre: The National Data Centre affiliated to the Council.
Relevant Authorities: The federal and local government authorities in the State.
Security Agencies: The Council, its affiliates, the military and the police as well as the federal security agencies.
