Cabinet Decision No. 9/1995 Regulating Expatriates' Bringing of their Families and Domestic Workers

The Cabinet,

Pursuant to the perusal of the provisional Constitution*^[1] ,

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 6/1973 concerning Entry and Residence of Foreigners*^[2] and its amendments;

Based on Cabinet Decision No. 63/1/1994 concerning the formation of the Ministerial Committee on Population Composition to study the population growth problem, its effects and relevant means of treatment;

Cabinet Decision No. 4/1994 regulating Expatriates' Bringing of their Families and Domestic workers; and

Based on what was presented by the Minister of Defence - Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Population Composition, and the approval of the Cabinet,

Issued the following Decision:

Article 1

The provisions of Article 1 were replaced by virtue to Article 1 of Cabinet Decision No. 30/2019 dated 21/04/2019 and became as follows:

The term "provisional" has been deleted from the Constitution of the United Arab Emirates wherever it appeared, by virtue of Article 1 of the Constitutional Amendment No. 1/1996 dated 12/12/1996. And this Constitution became the permanent constitution of the State; thus, a mention is in order.

- The expression "immigration and residence" was replaced by the expression "Entry and Residence of Foreigners" by virtue of Article 3 of Federal Law No. 13/1996 dated 18/06/1996, amending Federal Law No. 6/1973.- Under the same Federal Law No. 13/1996 dated 18/6/1996, Article 4 thereof stipulates that the expression “Nationality and Immigration Administration” shall be replaced by the expression “General Administration of Nationality and Residency” wherever it appears in Federal Law No. 3/1973. Therefore, in implementation of what was mentioned above, the two expressions mentioned above have been replaced wherever they appeared in the present Decision.
