The Council of Ministers,

After perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 21/1995 on the traffic, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 10/2018 on the safety of products, and its amendments;

Federal Decree-Law No. 20/2020 on standardisation and metrology;

Cabinet Decision No. 35/2015 on the Emirati System for the Control of Conformity Assessment Body;

Cabinet Decision No. 64/2022 on the National Measurement System; and

Based on the proposal of the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and its approval by the Council of Ministers,

Has decided the following:

Article 1 - Definitions

In the implementation of the provisions of the present Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto unless the context requires otherwise:

  • State: The State of the United Arab Emirates.

  • Ministry: The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.

  • Minister: The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology.
