The Cabinet,

After perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the competencies of the Ministers and powers of the Ministries, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 3/1983 on the Federal Judicial Authority, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 10/1992 on the issuance of the Law of Evidence in the civil and commercial transactions, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 11/1992 on the issuance of the Civil Procedure Law, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 28/2005 on the personal status, and its amendments; and

Based on the proposal of the Minister of Justice, and approval of the Cabinet;

Has decided:

Article 1

In implementation of the provisions of this Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto unless the context requires otherwise:

  • State: The United Arab States

  • Court: The Sharia First Instance Court or Circuit of Personal Status, as the case may be.
