The Council of Ministers,
After perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the competencies of Ministries and powers of Ministers, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 24/1999 for the protection and development of the Environment, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 4/2000 on the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority and Market, and its amendments; and
Based on the proposal of the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and the approval of the Council of Ministers,
Has decided the following:
Article 1 - Definitions
In application of the provisions of this Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned against each, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: The State of the United Arab Emirates.
Ministry: The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
Minister: The Minister of Climate Change and Environment.
Authority: The Securities and Commodities Authority.
Competent Authority: The authority that is concerned with the climate change affairs in every Emirate.
Free Zone: Any free zone existing or established within the State under any federal or local legislation.
