Cabinet Decision No. 56/2018 On the Regulation of Residence Permits for Investors, Entrepreneurs and Individuals with Specialized Talents

The Cabinet:
Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution,
Federal Law No. 6/1973 on the entrance and residence of aliens and its amendments,
Federal Decree-Law No. 2/2004 on the establishment of Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and its amendments; and
Based on the Cabinet's approval,
Has issued the following Decision:
Article 1 - Definitions
In the application of the provisions of the present Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto, unless the context otherwise requires:
State: United Arab Emirates.
Authority: Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
Competent Authority: Any Federal or local authority in the State.
Alien: Any natural person who does not hold the nationality of the State.
Investor: Alien who spends his/her capital for financial gain or returns, in accordance with the controls referred to in this Decision.
