The Council of Ministers,

After perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the competencies of Ministries and powers of Ministers, and its amendments;

Federal Decree-Law No. 32/2022 on the Federal Judicial Authority;

Federal Law No. 35/2022 promulgating the Law of Evidence in Civil and Commercial Transactions;

Federal Decree-Law No. 42/2022 on the promulgation of the Civil Procedure Law;

Cabinet Decision No. 47/2020 on the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Justice; and

Based on the proposal of the Minister of Justice, and its approval by the Council of Ministers,

Hereby decided as follows:

Article 1 - Definitions

In application of the provisions of this Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto, unless the context requires otherwise:

  • State: The State of the United Arab Emirates.

  • Minister: The Minister of Justice.

  • Federal Entities: Ministries, entities, institutions, and regulatory bodies reporting to the Federal Government, as well as companies that are totally owned by the State or to any of the aforementioned bodies.
