Cabinet Decision No. 49/2018 On Mandatory Standard Specifications in the United Arab Emirates
The Cabinet:
After perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 28/2001 concerning the establishment of Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA), and its amendments;
Based on the approval of the Cabinet thereon,
Has decided the following:
Article 1
The updated standard specifications related to the Food Sector, consisting of 3 standard specifications of which numbers, titles and types are set out in Table No. 1 here-enclosed, shall be mandatory in the United Arab Emirates.
Article 2
The amendments and corrections prescribed for the mandatory standard specifications related to the Food Sector, consisting of 3 standard specifications of which numbers, titles and types are set out in Table No. 2 here-enclosed, shall be adopted.
Article 3
The authorities concerned by the implementation of this Decision shall adjust their situation in accordance with the provisions hereof within 180 days from the date of its coming into force.
