Cabinet Decision No. 45/2018 On the Implementing Regulation of Federal Law No. 11/2015 on Controlling Trade in Valuable Stones, Precious Metals and their Stamping
The Cabinet,
Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972, on the Jurisdiction of the Ministries and the Powers of the Ministers, and its amending laws;
Federal Law No. 28/2001 on the Establishment of the Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 11/2015 on Controlling Trade in Valuable Stones, Precious Metals and their Stamping;
Based on the Cabinet approval,
Has decided the following:
Article 1 - Definitions
In the implementation of the present Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Authority: Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology.
Competent Authority: The local authority having the competence to implement the provisions hereof.
Committee: Committee for the Control of Trade in Valuable Stones and Precious Metals.
Stamping: Stamping a mark on precious metals to certify their type and legal fineness or degree of purity.
Official Hallmark: The hallmark approved in the State by the Authority.
