Cabinet Decision No. 45/2016 On Mandatory Standards in the United Arab Emirates

The Cabinet,

Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 28/2001 on the Establishment of the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, and its amendments;

And based on the approval of the Council of Ministers,

Hereby decides as follows:

Article 1

The approved standard No. (UAE.S 5014:2016), regarding safety requirements for modified vehicles, and the approved standard No. (UAE.S GSO 42:2015), regarding general requirements for motor vehicles, are hereby designated as mandatory standards for application within the United Arab Emirates.

Article 2

The entities concerned with the implementation of this Decision shall adjust their situation in accordance with its provisions within (180) days from the date of its entry into force.

Article 3

This Decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and it shall come into force from the day following the date of its publication.
