The Cabinet:

Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amendments;

Federal Decree-Law No. 4/2016 on Medical Liability, and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 5/2019 on the Regulation of the Practice of the Profession of Human Medicine;

And based on the proposal of the Minister of Health and Prevention, and the approval of the Cabinet,

Hereby decides as follows:

Article 1 - Definitions

In application of the provisions of this Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto, unless the context requires otherwise:

UAE: The United Arab Emirates.

Ministry: The Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Minister: The Minister of Health and Prevention.

Health Authority: The Ministry or any federal or local government entity concerned with health affairs in the State.

Health Facility: A government or private health facility authorised by the Health Authority to perform abortions.

Committee: The committee set forth in Article (6) of this Decision.
