Cabinet Decision No. 43/2014 On UAE Regulation for the Control of Water Consumption Rationalisation Tools
The Cabinet,
After perusal of the Constitution,
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 28/2001 concerning the Establishment of Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA) and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 24/2006 on Consumer Protection and its amendments;
Federal Cabinet Decision No. 31/2006 concerning the National Measurement System; and
Based on the Cabinet's approval,
Decided:
Article 1 - Definitions
In application of the provisions of the present Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: United Arab Emirates.
Law: Federal Law no. (28) of 2001 concerning the Establishment of Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA) and any other legislation which may replace it.
Authority: Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA).
Board: Board of Directors of the Authority.
Director-General: Director-General of the Authority.
Competent Entity: The federal or local governmental entity concerned with the implementation of the provisions of the present Decision.
