Cabinet Decision No. W2/9/2020

The Cabinet,

After perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amendments;

Federal Decree-Law No. 5/2011 on the Regulation of the Boards of Directors, Boards of Trustees and Committees in the Federal Government;

Cabinet Decision No. W2/9/2020 on the Guide to Governance of Boards of Directors in the Federal Government;

Based on the proposal of the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and the approval of the Cabinet,

Hereby decided as follows:

Article 1 - Definitions

In application of the provisions of this Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned against each, unless the context requires otherwise:

  • State: The State of the United Arab Emirates.

  • Federal Government: The Government of the United Arab Emirates.

  • Cabinet: The Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates.

  • General Secretariat: General Secretariat of the Cabinet.

  • Federal Entity/Entities: The federal authority or establishment (and the like), or the company wholly owned by the Federal Government.
