Cabinet Decision No. 37/2016 On the UAE Scheme for the Control of the Safety Requirements of the Power Doors and Windows

The Cabinet,

Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 28/2001 concerning the establishment of Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA), and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 24/2006 on Consumer Protection and its amendments;

Cabinet Decision No. 22/2004 on the Implementing Regulation of the national accreditation system;

Cabinet Decision No. 35/2015, on the UAE Scheme for the Control of the Conformity Assessment Bodies; and

Based on the approval of the Cabinet,

Has issued the following Decision:

Article 1 - Definitions

In application of the provisions hereof, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto unless the context requires otherwise:

State: UAE

Authority: Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA)

Board: Board of Directors of the Authority

Director General: Director General of the Authority

Competent Body: Federal or local competent body in the State, in charge of implementing the provisions of the present Decision.
