The Cabinet,
After perusal of the Constitution,
The Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amendments,
The Federal Law No. 1/1979 on the regulation of the industrial affairs,
The Federal Law No. 4/1979 on the suppression of fraud and deception in commercial transactions.
The Federal Law No. 24/1999 on the protection and development of the environment, and its amendments,
The Federal Law No. 28/2001 on the establishment of Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, and its amendments,
The Federal Law No. 24/2006 on consumer protection, and its amendments,
The Cabinet Decision No. 22/2004 on the Implementing Regulation of the national accreditation system,
And according to the approval of the Cabinet,
Decided the following:
Chapter 1
Article 1 - Definitions
In applying the provisions of this Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings stated next to them, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Authority: The Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology.
Board: Authority's Board of Directors.
