Cabinet Decision No. 27/2018 On the Participation of Non-National Players in Official Sports Competitions
The Council of Ministers.
After perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
Federal Decree-Law No. 7/2008 on the establishment of the General Sports Authority, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 16/2016 on the establishment of the Emirati Sport Arbitration Centre; And
Based on the proposal of the Chairman of the General Sports Authority and the approval of the Cabinet;
Has decided the following:
Article 1 - Definitions
In implementation of the provisions of the present Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned thereto unless the context requires otherwise:
State: United Arab Emirates
Authority: General Sports Authority
National Olympic Committee: National Olympic Committee in the State
Sports Entities: Any entity promoting sport activities in the State, including federations, clubs, associations, societies, companies and institutions.
Children of Female Nationals: Persons whose mothers hold the UAE Nationality.
Holders of UAE Passport: Persons holding passports issued by the State.
UAE Native-Born: Non-Nationals who were born in the State.
