Cabinet Decision No. 23/2016 On the UAE Scheme for Electrical Appliances Intended for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmosphere
The Cabinet,
- Pursuant to the perusal of the Constitution;
- Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;
- Federal Law No. 28/2001 concerning the establishment of Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA), and its amendments;
- Federal Law No. 2/2015 on Commercial Companies;
- Federal Law No. 24/2006 on Consumer Protection and its amendments;
- Cabinet Decision No. 22/2004 on the Implementing Regulation of the National Accreditation System;
- Cabinet Decision No. 35/2015 on the UAE Scheme for the Control of the Conformity Assessment Bodies; and
- Based on the approval of the Cabinet,
Has issued the following Decision:
Article 1 - Definitions
For the purposes of the present Decision, the following terms shall have the meanings assigned thereto, unless the context requires otherwise:
State: United Arab Emirates.
Authority: Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority.
Board: Board of Directors of the ESMA.
Director General: Director General of the ESMA.
