Cabinet Decision No. 22/2015 On the Approval of the Gulf Technical Regulation on Children Toys
The Cabinet,
After perusal of the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and amendments thereof;
Federal Law No. 28/2001 on the Establishment of Emirates Standardisation and Metrology Authority (ESMA), and amending laws thereof;
Federal Law No. 24/2006 on Consumer Protection, and amending laws thereof;
Based on the Cabinet's approval,
Decides the following:
Article 1 - Definitions
a. In the application of this Decision, the following words and expressions shall have the meanings assigned against each, unless the context stipulates otherwise:
Regulation: The Gulf Technical Regulation for Children Toys and attached annexes approved by virtue of this Decision.
Competent Authority: Any federal or local government authority in charge of the application of this Decision as per the regulatory legislations of each.
Standard: A document setting out the specifications, description, characteristics, quality, dimensions, measures, safety and security requirements of a product or material or service or whatever may be subject to standards, and including terminology, codes, testing methods, sampling, packaging, information labels and marks.
