Cabinet Decision No. 1/2014 On the Conciliation Rules and Conditions of the Violations Committed Contrary to Federal Law No 24/2006 on the Consumer Protection

The Cabinet,

After the perusal of the Constitution,

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amending laws,

Federal Law No. 24/2006 on Consumer Protection and its amending laws,

Cabinet Decision No. 12/2007 on the implementing regulation of Federal Law No. 24/2006 on consumer protection and its amending laws,

And based on the suggestion of the Minister of Economy and the Cabinet's approval,

Decided:

Article 1 - Definitions

When enforcing the provisions of this Decision, the following words and expressions shall have the meanings clarified before each of them, unless the context stipulates otherwise:

Law: Federal Law No. 24 of 2006 on consumer protection and its amendments.

Ministry: Ministry of Economy

Minister: Minister of Economy

Competent Authority: Local competent authority in the concerned Emirate bound to enforce the provisions of the Law.

Committee: Conciliation Committee formed in each Emirate under the provisions of this decision.
