Cabinet Decision No. 18/2018 On the Cultivation of Native Plants and the Preservation of Nature
The Cabinet,
Having reviewed the Constitution;
Federal Law No. 1/1972 concerning the Competencies of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 5/1979 concerning Agricultural Quarantine, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 24/1999 concerning the Protection and Development of the Environment, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 14/2016 concerning Administrative Violations and Penalties in the Federal Government; and
Based on the proposal submitted by the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and as approved by the Cabinet;
Has resolved as follows:
Article 1 - Definitions
For the purposes of applying the provisions of this Resolution, the following words and expressions shall have the meanings assigned to each of them below, unless the context otherwise requires:
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Ministry: The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
Minister: The Minister of Climate Change and Environment.
Competent Authority: The relevant local authority in each Emirate.
Natural Habitats: A natural environmental area in which specific species of animals or plants live naturally and depend on one another for survival.
