Cabinet Decision No. 11/1981 On Licensing the Activities of Storing and Dealing with Petroleum Products

The Cabinet,*[1]

Pursuant to the perusal of Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of the Ministries and Powers of the Ministers and its amendments;

Federal Law No. 16/1980 on the establishment of Emirates General Petroleum Corporation; and

Based on the proposal of the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates General Petroleum Corporation and the approval of the Cabinet,

Has issued the following Decision:

Article 1

Individuals and Companies shall be prohibited from storing and dealing with subsidized petroleum products in any way other than private consumption, unless they have obtained legal licenses to store and deal with petroleum products.

Article 2

Municipalities in the concerned emirates shall grant licenses after obtaining the approval of Emirates General Petroleum Corporation*[2].

Article 3

Emirates General Petroleum Corporation shall be entitled to withhold its consent if the facilities that are actually established or intended to be established do not have the appropriate technical standards and pollution prevention guarantees.
