The Council of Ministers,

After perusal of the Constitution;

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on Competencies of Ministries and Powers of Ministers, and its amendments;

Federal Decree-Law No. 20/2020 On Standardisation and Metrology;

Federal Decree-Law No. 26/2022 Concerning the Regulation of the Civil Use of Unmanned Aircraft and the Related Activities;

And Cabinet Decision No. 35/2015 On the Emirate Scheme for the Control of Conformity Assessment Bodies;

And based on the proposal of the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and the approval by the Council of Ministers;

Has decided:

Article 1 - Definitions

In application of the provisions of this Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned against each, unless the context requires otherwise:

  • UAE: The United Arab Emirates.

  • Ministry:  The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.

  • Authority: The General Civil Aviation Authority.

  • Government Authorities: The federal and local government authorities within whose jurisdiction the powers to implement the provisions of this Decision fall.

  • Competent Authority: The local authority with competence over aviation affairs in the Emirate.
