After perusal of the Constitution,
Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of Ministries and Powers of the Ministers, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 1/1979 on the regulation of the industrial affairs;
Federal Law No. 24/1999 on the protection and development of the environment, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 28/2001 on the Establishment of the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 24/2006 on consumer protection, and its amendments;
Federal Law No. 19/2016 on Combating Commercial Fraud;
Cabinet Decision No. 35/2015 on the Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme;
And according to the approval of the Cabinet,
Decided:
Article 1 - Definitions
1-In applying the provisions of this Decision, the following terms and expressions shall have the meanings stated next to them, unless the context requires otherwise.
State: The United Arab Emirates.
Authority: The Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology.
Board: Authority's Board of Directors.
