Cabinet Decision No. 105/2022 On the Percentage of National Advocates and Legal Consultants in Foreign Law and Legal Consultancy Firms

The Cabinet:

Having perused:

The Constitution

Federal Law No. 1/1972 on the Competencies of Ministries and the Powers of Ministers, as amended;

Federal Decree-Law No. 34/2022 Regulating the Advocacy and Legal Consultancy Professions; and

Based on the proposal of the Minister of Justice, and the approval of the Cabinet.

Has resolved as follows:

Article 1

1. The percentage of national advocates and legal consultants working in foreign law and legal consultancy firms that are licensed to work in the State may not be less than 20% of the total number of advocates and legal consultants working in these firms.

2. By a decision of the Minister of Justice, some of the foreign firms stipulated in the previous paragraph may be exempted from the aforementioned percentage or it may be reduced, if there is not a sufficient number of national advocates and legal consultants wishing to work in these firms, for a period not exceeding three (3) years, renewable for similar period(s).
