The following terms and expressions shall - wherever they appear in this Regulation - have the meanings assigned thereto:

Regulation: The Regulation of Engineering Jobs.

Ministry: The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

Minister: The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development.

Competent Minister: The Minister who is concerned with the affairs of his Ministry, or the Chairman of the independent department, as the case may be.

Council: The Saudi Council of Engineers.

Engineering Occupations: The permanent engineering occupations that are approved in the budget, and the titles thereof are determined in the Saudi Standard Classification of Occupations (SSCO). Persons occupying such positions carry out engineering duties. The Engineering Occupations require at least a Bachelor Degree in any engineering specialisations.

Professional Experience in the Engineering Field: The practical experience that is determined according to the principles and rules of classification approved by the Ministry.

Professional Accreditation: Registering with the Council and obtaining a professional grade.

Entity: The administrative entity that has an independent budget in the sections of the public budget of the State.

Supervision: The supervision over engineering activities in different administrative entities.
