Oman Sultani Decree No. 8/2021 Amending Some Laws and Sultani Decrees

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State, 

and Oman Sultani Decree No. 121/2008 Regarding the Sultanate of Oman Ratifying the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows 

Article 1

The word 'handicapped', the phrase 'persons with special  needs', and other terms referring to persons with disabilities wherever they occur in laws and royal decrees are hereby replaced with the phrase 'persons with disabilities'.

Article 2

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed. 

Article 3

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.
