Oman Sultani Decree No. 8/2018 On the Issuance of the National Payment Systems Law

We, Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman,

After perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 101/1996,

Commercial Law promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 55/1990,

Capital Market Law promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 80/1998,

Banking Law promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 114/2000,

Electronic Transactions Law promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 69/2008,

Law on Combating IT crimes promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 12/2011,

Law of Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 30/2016,

Based on the public interest requirements,

Have decreed the following:

Article 1

The provisions of the attached National Payment Systems Law shall be put into effect.

Any provision that is inconsistent with or contrary to the provisions of the present Law shall be abrogated.
