Oman Sultani Decree No. 85/2020 Regarding the Public Authority for Civil Aviation
We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,
Oman Sultani Decree No. 18/2008 Determining the Competences of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,
Oman Sultani Decree No. 33/2012 Establishing the Public Authority for Civil Aviation,
and Oman Sultani Decree No. 43/2013 Promulgating the System of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation, and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
The name of the “Public Authority for Civil Aviation” is hereby amended to the “Civil Aviation Authority.”
Article 2
The competences relating to climate affairs are hereby assigned to the Civil Aviation Authority from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs as specified in the attached annex.
Article 3
All allocations, assets, rights, obligations, and holdings relating to climate affairs in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs are hereby transferred to the Civil Aviation Authority “the Directorate General of Meteorology.”
Article 4
The employees concerned with climate affairs of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs are hereby transferred to the Civil Aviation Authority “the Directorate General of Meteorology” with their same financial grades, in accordance with the rules specified by the Council of Ministers.
