Oman Sultani Decree No. 77/2020 Regarding the Public Authority for Consumer Protection 

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

Oman Sultani Decree No. 26/2011 Establishing the Public Authority for Consumer Protection,

Oman Sultani Decree No. 53/2011 Promulgating the Public Authority for Consumer Protection System

and the System of the Administrative Apparatus of the State promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 75/2020,  and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows 

Article 1

The name “Public Authority for Consumer Protection” is hereby amended to “Consumer Protection Authority.”

Article 2

The text of article 5 of the aforementioned Consumer Protection Authority System is hereby  replaced with the following text:

“The administration of the authority and the management of its affairs shall be undertaken by a  board of directors formed by a decision of the Council of Ministers, and the term of membership of  the board shall be 3 (three) years renewable for a single similar term.”
