Oman Sultani Decree No. 64/2020 Establishing the Cyber Defence Centre and Promulgating Its System
We, Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman,
After perusal of the Basic Statute of the State, promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 101/1996;
Telecommunications Regulatory Act promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 30/2002;
Oman Sultani Decree No. 63/2003 on the National Security Council;
Electronic Transactions Law, promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 69/2008;
Cyber Crime Law, promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 12/2011;
Internal Security Service Law, promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 4/2020;
And based on the public interest requirements,
Issued the following Decree
Article 1
A centre shall be established under the name “Electronic Defence Centre” reporting to the Internal Security Service and subject to the provisions of the enclosed Statute.
Article 2
The President of the Internal Security Service shall issue the necessary regulations and decisions for the implementation of the provisions of the enclosed Statute.
Article 3
All that contradicts this Decree and the enclosed Statute or contradicts the provisions thereof shall be abrogated.
