Abrogating

Oman Sultani Decree No. 6/1980

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman,

After perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 101/1996, and the

Law on Protection of the National Heritage promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 6/1980, and Sultani

Oman Decree No. 40/2016 on the Determination of the Competencies of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Approval of its Organisational Structure,

And after referring to the Council of Oman,

And based on the public interest requirements,

Have decreed as follows:

Article 1

The provisions of the Cultural Heritage Law enclosed herewith shall be put into effect.

Article 2

The Minister of Heritage and Culture shall issue the Implementing Regulation of this Law within one year from the date of its entry into effect. And he shall issue the decisions necessary to implement its provisions, and until their issuance, the regulations and decisions in effect shall remain effective, to the extent not inconsistent with its provisions.
