Oman Sultani Decree No. 27/2003 On the Promulgation of The Mining Law
We, Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman,
After perusal of the Basic Statute of the State issued by Oman Sultani Decree No. 101/1996;
Commercial Register, Oman Law No. 3/1974 and its amendments;
Commercial Companies Law, Oman Law No. 4/1974 , and its amendments;
Law on Oil and Minerals promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 42/1974; and
Based on the Public Interest Requirements,
Have decreed the following:
Article 1
The provisions of the attached Mining Law shall be applicable.
Article 2
The Minister of Commerce and Industry shall issue the regulations and decisions necessary to implement the provisions of this Law. Pending issuance thereof, the existing regulations and decisions shall remain in effect provided that they do not contradict the provisions of this Law.
Article 3
The provisions related to mining and stipulated in the aforementioned Law on Oil and Minerals shall be abrogated as shall any provision contrary to this Law or contradicting with its provisions.
