Oman Sultani Decree No. 116/2020 Amending Some Provisions of Oman Sultani Decree No. 6/2020 Regarding the Higher Committee for National Day Celebrations

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State, 

and Oman Sultani Decree No. 6/2020 Regarding the Higher Committee for National Day Celebrations,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The name of the “Higher Committee for National Day Celebrations” stated in the aforementioned Oman Sultani Decree No. 6/2020 is hereby replaced with the name  “Secretariat General for National Celebrations.”

Article 2

A new article is hereby added to the aforementioned Oman Sultani Decree No. 6/2020 with the following text:

Article 4 bis

An  executive  committee  is  hereby  formed  in  the  Secretariat  General  for  National  Celebrations  under  the  chairmanship of the Secretary General, and by the membership of representatives - each of whom has a rank no less than undersecretary or equivalent - of the following bodies:

  • Ministry of Interior.

  • Ministry of Finance.

  • Ministry of Information.

  • Ministry of Education.

  • Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion.

  • Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers.

  • Royal Oman Police.

The  membership  of  the  committee  also  includes  a  representative of the Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed  Forces and the Royal Protocol.
