Oman Sultani Decree No. 106/2020 Establishing the Environment Authority, Determining Its Competences, and Adopting Its Organisational Structure
We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman
after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,
Oman Sultani Decree No. 90/2007 Establishing the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs,
Oman Sultani Decree No. 18/2008 Determining the Competences of the Ministry of Environment and Climate
Affairs and Adopting Its Organisational Structure,
and the System of the Administrative Apparatus of the State promulgated by Oman Sultani Decree No. 75/2020,
and in pursuance of public interest,
have decreed as follows
Article 1
A public authority named the "Environment Authority " is hereby established. It shall have legal personality, shall enjoy financial and administrative independence, and shall be subordinate to the Council of Ministers.
Article 2
The headquarters of the Environment Authority shall be in the Governorate of Muscat, and branches of it may be established in the other governorates by a decision of the board of directors.
Article 3
The competences of the Environment Authority are hereby determined in accordance with the attached Annex 1.
